Terms and Conditions
a. The client believes that the contractor has the necessary sets of skills, qualifications, experiences, and the ability to provide these services to the client.
b. The Contractor is agreeing to provide these services according to the terms and conditions set out in this Agreement.
c. The following terms and conditions are provided so that you (the client) and I (the contractor) both have an upfront and honest understanding of what is involved in the process of working together. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me for further clarification and reassurance.
a. Before the contractor takes up any assignment(s), you will be required to confirm that you accept these Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept the Terms and Conditions, I will not be able to start any work for you.
b. I recommend that you read the Terms and Conditions prior to using the services and accepting a quotation. If you have any questions about the Terms and Conditions, please ask me before paying a deposit, and I will be happy to clarify anything with you.
c. When you agree to use and pay for any current or future services supplied by me, whether or not that is arranged via the website or via direct contact with me, and you have accepted these Terms and Conditions, you will be subjected to them and not abiding by these terms.
d. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that you read and understand these Terms and Conditions properly, as breaching or not following them fully can affect the service you are provided with. This includes not receiving your work on time, paying deposits or full payments.
a. The Client and the Contractor have agreed to the provision of the following service:

Esther Emends offer a bonus/extra service for those wishing to get extra support with things such as an in-depth feedback on your assignment and how you can improve on future assignments.
Please also be aware that if you have selected this service then your assignment will be returned to you by 11am on the selected day and you will then receive a phone consultation (10-20 minutes long) within two hours of submission (11am-1pm). We would call you only once within that time frame, however if you missed this call for any extenuating reason(s) then you can call back on the same number by 2pm latest on that same day.
After this, unless prior arrangements have been discussed, you will forfeit your opportunity for telephone feedback, but we will retain the right to keep 100% of the payment made for this bonus service.
Minor revisions directly related to the provided proofreading may be included.
Any additional editing, rewriting, or work outside the original agreement will be billed at the standard rate.
My proofreading service includes a one round of minor revisions to ensure clarity, accuracy, and satisfaction with the final result. These revisions cover small adjustments directly related to the original proofreading tasks—such as correcting overlooked errors, clarifying comments, or addressing concerns about edits already made.
Requests that go beyond the scope of standard proofreading—such as rewriting sentences, restructuring content or adding new material, —are considered additional work. Any such work will be billed at the standard proofreading or editing rate, and timelines may be adjusted accordingly.
Revisions must be requested within 2 days of receiving the completed project.
Standard proofreading or editing rate = £5
a. This Agreement will commence from the date signed on the agreement by both parties but has no expiry date. This will automatically come to an end once all work is submitted, and feedback has been received to the client.
b. If either party breaches any elements agreed within this Agreement, then the other party can choose to terminate the contract immediately.
c. The contractor can still decide to support the Client after the agreement is terminated, but this will solely be a choice and not an obligation.
d. Prior to commencement of proofreading your work, the Client and the contractor will agree, via email the terms of the assignment:
i. the assignment must be sent as a MircoSoft Word document (DOC/DOCX).
ii. it will be marked using the Track Changes in MircoSoft Word
iii. the fee for the assignment is shown on the ‘Price Plans’ Tab
iiii. the date by which the assignment will be delivered to the Client which is stated in the availability calendar email sent to you
iiiii. When you accept a quote, the timeline for completion of the work is discussed further or can be seen on the ‘Process’ Tab.
iiiiii. If the assignment cannot be completed within the timeframe you will be told immediately, so that we can agree an alternative timescale. It is recommended that you instruct me in plenty of time to avoid this situation occurring.
iiiiiii Your assignment and feedback sheet will be returned via an email attachment to you using the email address you specified in the form as a Microsoft Word document (DOC/DOCX).
Your assignment(s) will be held on our system for 48 hours before it is removed. We are not responsible for the loss of your assignment. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that they save and backup any assignment sent to prevent loss of work.
a. The contractor will charge the Client according to the price plans stated on the website.
b. The Client will be sent an invoice immediately to make the deposit before the proofreading commences.
c. Invoices submitted by the Contractor to the Client will be required to be paid within 2 hours into the account details specified in the Agreement. If payment is not paid within this period your slot will automatically expire or cancelled based on demand and the rate may change.
d. We accept the following methods of payment: i. Bank transfer (Accepted cards - Visa, Visa Debit, Master Cards)
ii. PayPal
Please note that the full details will be stated in service agreement
e. Refunds will only be given in extreme circumstances and special cases discussed with the contractor prior to payments being due. These will be determined on a case-by-case basis. These will have to be discussed in a timely manner ensuring that the contractor is informed on time to assess each individual situation. Please note that there is no guarantee that your assignment will be checked immediately.
a. Once the Client and Contractor have agreed the full fee, it is non-negotiable.
b. The Contractor will supply the Client with a receipt immediately upon completion of the proofreading.
c. The fee quoted is for one assignment. Additional assignments are new submissions via the Availability Calendar and the terms of which will be agreed separately.
a. The booking-confirmation form is an agreement between the Contractor and the Client. This is called the ‘Submit Your Assignment’ form, which is a link sent to your email prior to this you need to book the availability calendar using the link below: .
a. When the Client has sent the ‘Submit Your Assignment’ form, a service agreement will be issued after the first deposit.
b. The first deposit is non-refundable.
c. By filling in the ‘Submit the Assignment’ form, the Client agrees to secure the proofreading services for a specific and mutually agreed time. The client confirms that they have read and agreed to the terms and conditions. From there on, the terms of the cancellation policy (see below) will be applicable. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they fully understand the content of the Agreement and Terms & Conditions before signing. We will therefore advise that you get in touch with us for any clarification you need or questions you have regarding the Agreement before signing.
d. The deposit will be deducted from the final invoice issued when the proofreading has been completed.
e. The booking is considered confirmed once the deposit has been paid by the Client and received to the Contractor.
f. The deposit should be paid within 1 hour of sending the ‘Submit Your Assignment’ form to secure the slot. If payment is not made within this period, your slot will automatically expire or be cancelled based on demand and the rate may also change.
If the Client cancels the work during the proofreading period, the Contractor reserves the right to send the client an invoice requesting for 100% of the agreed fee.
a. Confidential Information refers to any information or data relating to the Client’s information that is not in the public domain.
b. The Contractor agrees that they will not disclose or share any confidential information that the Client does not want to be published.
c. This obligation of confidentiality will apply throughout the terms of contract and after the termination of this Agreement.
d. All official documents shared by the Client to the Contractor will be kept confidential unless otherwise stated or agreed by the Client.
e. To protect your privacy, your assignment(s) will be held on our system for 48 hours before it is removed.
f. We understand that the nature of your content may be sensitive, we therefore take confidentiality very seriously. Any personal information collected from the clients will only be used internally for statistics purposes.
